Man Granted Bail After Allegedly Trying to Demolish Neighbors' Wall

Keith Stopford, a 57-year-old man from Costessey, Norfolk, has been granted unconditional bail ahead of his trial on October 18. He is accused of attempting to destroy a wall built by his neighbours, Flaviano and Rosalyn Taaca, without planning permission.

Stopford was charged before he could carry out the act, as he was suspected of planning an unlawful action. He pleaded not guilty at Norwich Magistrates' Court, claiming he had a 'lawful excuse' for tearing down the wall. The wall, standing at 1.5 meters high, was built over Stopford's land, partially blocking his driveway.

Stopford allegedly attempted to demolish the wall using a hammer while the Taacas were on holiday. He believes the wall poses a danger to his family, his dog, and the wider community.

Keith Stopford will await his trial on October 18 after being granted unconditional bail. The trial will determine the legality of his actions and the future of the disputed wall.
