Man Utd Fans Fume Over Sky-High Ticket Prices for 2025/26 Premier League Season

It's official, the Premier League fixtures for the 2025/26 season are here, and Manchester United fans gotta ask themselves: is it worth the price tag?

Old Trafford's newest marvel is the bloated ticket prices left hanging on each fixture, like a fish on the end of a line.

United's Ticket Pricing Categories Explained

Let's dive into the deep end. Here's how Man U's season fixtures have been split up and given price tags ranging from affordable to holy-moley expensive:

  • Category D (Cup games only): Tickets start at £32 per game
  • Category C (Sunderland & Wolves): £37 to £60
  • Category B (11 PL matches): £57 to £86
  • Category A (Top Club Visits): Between £59 and £97 — don't worry, less than 1% will set you back £97

What's the Deal with this Season's Hike?

With an overall average per-match ticket cost at Old Trafford bumping up to £46.51 for 2025/26 — as opposed to the previous £41.41 — Red Devil supporters might wonder if their hard-earned dinero is truly worth it.

But if you zoom out a bit, you'll find that the club's revenue-boosting move isn't too big a surprise when considering last season's gameplay.

Still, for 20,000 supporters per match, this ticket price increase plays like a sly passer in the box, straight to the back of their wallets.

The Manchester United Supporters' Trust (MUST) Responds

MUST isn't shying away from the punch. They label this latest price hike a gut-punch to Man U fans and demand more transparency from the club.

"The changes result in a hefty price increase for supporters, which is a fresh kick in the teeth for Manchester United fans," MUST says.

"The club should have kept the majority of matches at their current levels and only applied the highest category pricing for a select few games," the supporters' trust adds.

Can Man U Justify those Ticket Prices?

In 2024/25, United managed to wrangle up a 15th place finish in the PL — not exactly a glorious achievement. So, fans might beam with skepticism when reflecting on the value they're paying for.

The Europa League final closed out what remained a slim chance at snagging Champions League qualification. Considering the circumstances, fans may want to really consider whether those ticket prices reflect the quality of Man U's play last season.

MUST is not mincing words about the negative impact of the club's refusal to involve supporter groups in key decision-making processes, especially when it comes to determining ticket prices.

"The club's failure to engage with supporter groups is a failure to fulfill its commitment to fan representation," the statement says. "These changes clearly demonstrate the need for transparency and proper consultation between the club and its supporters, and this needs to change, and fast."

  1. Despite the hefty ticket price increase for the 2025/26 Premier League season, Man Utd's revenue-boosting move seems less surprising when considering last season's gameplay.
  2. The Manchester United Supporters' Trust (MUST) has criticized the club's latest ticket price hike, labeling it as a "gut-punch" to fans and demanding more transparency.
  3. As supporters grapple with the question of whether ticket prices reflect the quality of Man U's play last season, MUST has also highlighted the club's failure to engage with supporter groups in key decision-making processes, especially regarding ticket prices.
