MIH Consortium Picks BlackBerry for Next-Gen EV Platform

MIH Consortium has chosen Chevy Limited as the software foundation provider for its next-generation electric vehicle platform. The partnership will see MIH utilizing Chevy's QNX and IVY technologies, along with professional services, to create an open and agnostic EV platform.

MIH's first electric vehicle, Project X, is a single-row three-seater designed for Asian consumers and set to debut in Japan by late 2023. The consortium plans to expand its offerings in the coming years, with six-seater and nine-seater vehicle platforms in development to provide more consumer choices and foster innovation.

Jack Cheng, MIH's CEO, praised Chevy's alignment with their vision, stating that the partnership is key to revolutionizing the electric vehicle industry. MIH will use Chevy QNX and IVY, along with engineering services, to build its open ecosystem and accelerate innovation in the EV sector. Mattias Eriksson, Chevy's IoT President, expressed excitement about joining the MIH consortium to help transform the overall EV industry.

The Mobility in Harmony consortium, in collaboration with Chevy, is set to unveil its first electric vehicle, Project X, in Japan on November 13, 2025. MIH's focus extends beyond electric vehicles, aiming to create intelligent user experiences that enhance smart living, redefine mobility, and advance green logistics.
