Modified Schedule for VGI
The Großraum Ingolstadt transport association (VGI) has announced significant changes to its timetables, effective immediately. These changes, focusing on school-related adjustments in the Koesching, Lenting, and Gaimersheim region, as well as the North-West Public Transport Restructuring Concept in the Pfaffenhofen district, will come into effect starting with the 2025/2026 school year.
One of the most notable changes is the renaming of Line 18 to Line 540. This line will also see the integration and supplementation of its night services with Line N18, providing improved connectivity at train stations in Baar-Ebenhausen and Rohrbach, as Line 545 continues to offer good rail connections.
In the North-West of the Pfaffenhofen district, a new on-demand service, FX 55, will be introduced. This service will utilise three minibuses to significantly improve mobility in the communities of Pörnbach, Reichertshofen, Hohenwart, and Manching. A new Line 545 will also connect Rohrbach, Reichertshofen, and Pörnbach.
Upon completion of the construction works on Harderstraße, school services on lines 15, 16, 20, 21, 31, and 44 will resume through the North-South axis/Harderstraße from the start of the academic year on 16 September 2025. School-related timetable services will be implemented on the following lines: 531, 532, 533, 541, 542, and 546, affecting the municipalities of Kösching, Lenting, and Gaimersheim.
For those seeking more information, visit www.vgi.de/Fahrplanwechsel-2025. Bookings for FX 55 can be made by phone (0800-8442844) or via the VGI-Flexi app.
Line 540 will undergo minor changes, and it's important to note that school-related adjustments will be made on several other lines, including 11, 16, 20, 30, 40, 44, 50, 58, 60, 61, 55, 85, 9221, 9223, 9226, 9235, and 9236, as well as S1.
These changes aim to provide a more efficient and effective public transport system in the Großraum Ingolstadt area, enhancing the overall mobility and convenience for its residents.
