Networking Event Kicks Off at Bieber-Waldhof: Intensive Business Interactions Among Offenbach Companies

A New Era for Offenbach's Bieber-Waldhof: A Gathering of Minds

In the heart of Offenbach, an unprecedented meeting took place among the movers and shakers of the local business world. The event, graced by the presence of over 50 entrepreneurs, was the first gathering of its kind in the Bieber-Waldhof industrial area, organized by Offenbach's economic development agency, Hessenmetall, the IHK Offenbach, and the local chamber of crafts. The industrial powerhouse, GKN Driveline Deutschland GmbH, opening its doors to host the momentous occasion.

The event commenced with a compelling address by Dr. Felix Schwenke, the Mayor of Offenbach, detailing the city's impressive economic growth despite global crises. He proudly emphasized the city's strategic focus, thanks to the Master Plan 2030 and the Economic Location Concept, ensuring a clear separation of residential and commercial zones, offering investment security to businesses.

Addressing the Heart of Matters: Q&A on Key Locational Topics

The Mayor then fielded queries from the entrepreneurs regarding current developments, including the city's future energy supply, plans for the new HfG harbor campus, the influence of the proposed Samson plant on infrastructure, and the challenges posed by rising energy demands, such as those from data centers. To address these concerns, the city is already taking proactive steps, such as expanding its power grid by 2040.

Casual Connects and Collaborative Conversations

The event proved to be more than just a series of formal presentations, as many attendees seized the opportunity for informal discussions. Entrepreneur Frank Bartenstein shared his thoughts, "We're all in the same location, but we rarely know what's occurring in the surrounding companies." Topics such as the skilled labor shortage, supply chains, and sustainability took center stage during these interchanges.

A Behind-the-Scenes Look at Industrial Production

A highlight of the gathering was the tour of GKN's plant. Armed with protective gear, participants received an exclusive glimpse into the production of drive components. This not only offered technical insights but fostered networking opportunities in a laid-back setting.

Green Mobility: "Better to Work"

The concept of "Operational Mobility Management" piqued great interest. The "Better to Work" program aims to make employees' commutes more eco-friendly. Suggestions range from improving connections, promoting cycling, to implementing carpooling schemes. Many participants showed keen interest in further consultation.

Looking Ahead

The networking event received rave reviews from all attendees. Tim Schlesinger from the city's economic development agency announced plans for similar events at other Offenbach industrial sites.
