New Images of Mahindra Thar 3-Door Model Surface Online, Offer Insights on Upcoming Vehicle Features
Freshened Up Thar 3-Door: Mahindra is getting ready to debut the revamped 3-door Thar, initially introduced in 2020. The upcoming facelift, currently under testing, promises significant transformations. Previous spy shots focused on the rear of the approaching 3-door Thar update, but latest images offer a glimpse of the front and interior.
The front design seems to draw inspiration from the Thar Roxx, unveiled in August last year. The SUV exhibits a six-slat front grille and round traditional headlights, likely LED units. The turn signals find their home on the front wheel arches. The SUV also flaunts fog lamps placed in a beefy front bumper. The hard top seems untouched.
Inside, the revamped Thar will boast a 10.25-inch touchscreen, identical to the one in the Thar Roxx. This upgrade swaps the previous 7-inch screen. It will support wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The updated Thar will receive a new steering wheel and a fully digital 10.25-inch instrument cluster.
A peak at the spied model showcases a manual gearbox and an all-black cabin with seats styled to resemble carbon fiber. Other expected enhancements include ventilated front seats and a 360-degree camera.
Engine options are likely to remain the same: a 2.0-litre petrol, a 1.5-litre diesel, and a 2.2-litre diesel. The petrol engine cranks out 150 bhp with 300 Nm of torque for manual transmissions, 320 Nm for automatic. The 1.5-litre diesel delivers 117 bhp and 300 Nm torque, while the 2.2-litre diesel generates 130 bhp and 300 Nm. Both RWD and 4WD configurations will be offered, with 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic options.
The price might increase slightly due to added features. The refreshed Mahindra Thar 3-door SUV is expected to hit the showrooms towards the end of this year.
