New occupant settles at Karlstor tower in Munich
In the heart of Munich, the state capital, a renovated building located at Karlstor on Kaufinger Street has become a lively urban component. The structure, once a department store, now houses multiple tenants, including the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition, Ashurst, and Pentarc.
The Max Planck Institute, one of the main tenants, has moved into its new 9600 square meter home and has established a large library and conference rooms at the location. The institute, specializing in patent and IP law, joins other businesses that have taken up residence in the multi-tenant structure.
Ashurst, another law firm, has rented approximately 1800 square meters in the renovated building. Meanwhile, Pentarc, a firm specializing in patent and IP law, has secured a 500 square meter space, located in the characteristic tower between Karlstor and Oberpollinger.
The building's outdoor area on Herzog Max Street is also attracting attention, with plans for a local gastronomy that will be open to all Munich residents. According to Thomas Munck, Accumulata project leader, they are seeking an individual gastronome, not a chain, for this venture. The decision for the gastronomy in Herzog Max Street is still pending.
New Balance has opened a flagship store on the ground floor of the renovated building, adding to the building's appeal. The developers, Euro Real Estate and Accumulata, are pleased with the full rental of the office spaces, marking the successful completion of the project.
Ralf Peter, Managing Director of Euro Real Estate, expressed his satisfaction, stating that the renovated building is now a lively urban component. The currently not very appealing outer wall of the Oberpollinger will also be greened, further enhancing the building's appeal.
The renovated Herzog Max building was officially opened a few weeks ago, and while there were still vacant spaces to rent at the time, it has since been fully leased shortly after opening. If you're interested in learning the exact name of the tenant specializing in patent and IP law, it may require checking recent official press releases or the leasing agency managing Herzog Max.
