New Tool Simplifies Social Security Benefit Checks
A new tool is making it easier for citizens to check their eligibility for social security benefits. The 'Social Benefits Simulator' now covers over 40 of the more than 60 available benefits, helping those with low financial resources, disabilities, and other needs.
The simulator, accessible to anyone, allows users to check eligibility for themselves or others. While it currently covers over 40 benefits, discussions are ongoing to include more, such as the proposed 'Neue Grundsicherung'.
If eligible, applications can be made in person at a social security office or online, where available. Benefits range from support for informal caregivers and unemployment to parental and retirement assistance.
The 'Social Benefits Simulator' is a step towards making benefit applications more accessible. With ongoing discussions to expand the simulator's coverage, more citizens may soon be able to check their eligibility and apply directly through the tool.
