New Trim Level for the 2026 Nissan Rogue: Dark Armor

The 2026 Nissan Rogue has introduced a new trim level, the Dark Armor, based on the mid-level SV grade. This trim offers a distinctive dark-themed exterior styling and several premium interior comfort features.

The Dark Armor trim starts at $28,790, which is $200 more than the base SV model, excluding a separate $1,390 destination fee. This places it between the SV and SL trims, making it a competitively priced option with unique styling and added features.

Exterior and Interior Enhancements

The Dark Armor trim features blacked-out badges, grille, mirrors, roof rails, door pillars, and 19-inch black wheels. The exterior also boasts gloss-black mirror caps, grille, badges, and window pillar trim, satin-black roof rails, and 19-inch gloss black alloy wheels in a Monolith design.

Inside, the Dark Armor offers heated front seats appointed with PrimaTex™ leatherette, a heated steering wheel, and a panoramic moonroof for enhanced cabin ambiance. It also comes equipped with an HD Intelligent Around View® Monitor with Moving Object Detection, providing a 360-degree camera system for better situational awareness.

Mechanical and Performance

The Rogue retains its 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine producing 204 hp and 305 Nm torque. It is paired with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) and offers optional all-wheel drive (AWD). The fuel economy is approximately 32 mpg combined.

The Dark Armor trim will be available with both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive options. Adding AWD to any 2026 Nissan Rogue model will cost an additional $1,400.

Recall for the VC Turbo Engine

There has been a recall for the variable-compression VC Turbo engine in the Rogue. Dealers will drop the oil pan and look for debris in affected Rogues. If debris is found, the engine may need to be replaced. However, undamaged engines get a new program for the engine control unit, and Nissan tells us that this fix will already be applied to new 2026 Rogues.

Pricing

The 2026 Nissan Rogue S with front-wheel drive has a starting price of $30,180, including a $1,390 destination fee. The Rogue Platinum model has a starting price of $40,380, including a standard all-wheel-drive. The Rock Creek model, which comes with all-wheel-drive standard, has a starting price of $35,080.

Pricing for the Dark Armor trim has not been announced yet, but it is expected to cost more than the SV but less than the Rock Creek and SL models.

In summary, the 2026 Nissan Rogue Dark Armor is a visually distinct, mid-grade trim that enhances the SV with upscale blacked-out exterior accents, heated seating and steering wheel, a panoramic sunroof, and advanced camera technology starting at $28,790 plus destination.
