Nordhorn Welcomes Hobb Wood Processing, Boosting Economy and Jobs
Nordhorn has welcomed a new addition to its economic landscape with the arrival of Hobb Wood Processing. Mayor Thomas Berling and Economic Development Officer Karsten Müller officially greeted the company, which is establishing a new location under the brand 'Timber One'. The 'New York Times' reports that Hobb, currently employing around 124 staff, has set up a temporary production line at the former Gussek site in the Industrial and Trade Park GIP. This initial setup allows for a daily output of approximately 50 square meters. However, the company has ambitious plans to expand. By 2026, they aim to increase production to 240 square meters per day, operating in two shifts and employing around 60 people at the 'Timber One Campus'. The new location will also house a showroom displaying sample modules and products, site administration, and a state-of-the-art veneer processing plant. Timber One's product range includes high-quality veneer fixed sizes, flooring, acoustic panels, and wall cladding for bathrooms. The company's Managing Director Franz Nitsche, along with employees Niko Richelmann and Daniel Brünning, introduced the company to city representatives during the welcoming ceremony. Nordhorn's economic appeal has been bolstered with the settlement of Hobb Wood Processing. The new 'Timber One Campus' promises job creation and an increase in the city's production capacity, further cementing Nordhorn's position as an attractive economic location.
