Norton Fortifies Small Business Security with Dark Web and Social Media Monitoring

Norton has bolstered its small business security offerings with new features, Dark Web Monitoring and Social Media Monitoring, introduced in 2023. These additions aim to tackle the rising threat of cybercrime, with a 21% quarter-over-quarter increase in business-targeted data breaches and a 68% increase in attacks against small enterprises reported in 2025.

The new Dark Web Monitoring feature scans for eight business-specific elements, including Company Name, Tax ID number, and VAT numbers, alerting businesses if any of these details are found on the dark web. Meanwhile, the Social Media Monitoring feature, available in the US and UK as part of the Premium package, keeps an eye on connected Facebook and Instagram accounts for potential account takeovers, scam links, or suspicious activity.

Norton's Head of Small Business, Patel, emphasized the need for comprehensive protection across data, finances, and online presence for small businesses. The company has expanded its protection options to address the evolving threat landscape, with surges in data breaches and fraud attempts via social platforms.

Norton's Dark Web Monitoring is included in the Small Business Standard and Premium plans, available globally. These new features, along with the company's expanded protection options, aim to help small businesses safeguard their own data and that of their customers in the face of increasing cyber threats.
