Paramount's Chris Aronson to Depart as President of Domestic Theatrical Distribution
Paramount Pictures is set to bid farewell to Chris Aronson, its President of Domestic Theatrical Distribution, on December 1. Aronson's departure follows a significant period of change at the studio under CEO David Ellison's leadership. A successor for Aronson has not been announced yet.
Aronson, a veteran in movie distribution, has been with Paramount since 2019. He expressed pride in the team's accomplishments and gratitude for their dedication during his tenure. Before joining Paramount, Aronson spent a considerable time at 20th Century Fox.
Among his notable contributions, Aronson established the theatrical division for Rentrak, now known as Comscore. This move streamlined the collection and dissemination of box office data. Aronson's last day at Paramount will be December 1, 2023.
Aronson's exit is part of a broader overhaul of the studio's executive suite, with other notable departures including Michael Ireland, Paramount Motion Picture group chief, and Marc Weinstock, president of worldwide marketing and distribution.
Chris Aronson leaves Paramount with a legacy of innovation and dedication to the theatrical experience. He believes in the power of collaboration with exhibition partners. Despite his departure, Aronson will always consider himself a part of the Paramount family and will continue to support the team's success.
