Private equity firm CVC Capital Partners set to buy Gaming Laboratories International, according to a recent report.
In a significant move, private equity firm CVC Capital Partners is set to gain control of Gaming Laboratories International (GLI), a global testing and compliance giant, through a newly formed investment vehicle called Avalon Buyer Limited.
Avalon Buyer Limited, a UK-listed firm, was incorporated in April 2025. The company is controlled by CVC Capital Partners, with its shareholders being CVC's private equity funds. The firm serves as a dedicated entity to facilitate the acquisition of GLI and its affiliates, Worldwide Laboratories LLC and Kobetron LLC.
The roles of Avalon Buyer Limited's directors, Zachary Kelly and Matthew Turner, in this acquisition have come to light. Both are affiliated with CVC Capital Partners. Zachary Kelly serves as an investment director, while Matthew Turner is the head of strategic opportunities for CVC in North America.
The acquisition is subject to antitrust filings in Austria and Malta. However, no financial terms have been disclosed regarding the deal. GLI, with its extensive network of testing and certification services for the gaming industry, is expected to bolster CVC's existing portfolio.
Zachary Kelly and Matthew Turner, as directors of Avalon Buyer Limited, will play crucial roles in overseeing the acquisition and managing the transaction. Their roles at CVC Capital Partners were not previously mentioned.
