Private garden in Ekaterinburg faces closure due to repeated rent increases by the owner.
In an unexpected turn of events, the "Radа" kindergarten located within Yekaterinburg's "Antares" residential complex has announced its closure, effective August 31, 2025. The decision follows another round of negotiations with the property owners, according to sources close to the matter.
Established a decade ago, the kindergarten has more than six groups and employs approximately 20 dedicated staff members. Over the years, it has been a cherished institution for countless families in the community, providing a nurturing environment for children.
The closure, it appears, is due to financial-economic reasons. The property owners offered either to triple the rent or to sell the property for approximately 100 million rubles. If the rent was tripled, the monthly fee for a child's stay at the kindergarten would become around 100,000 rubles, an increase that could have potentially led to decreased enrollment.
The sale of the property, if it materializes, would bring about significant changes for the kindergarten. However, until August 31, 2025, the kindergarten will continue to operate, providing much-needed stability for families during this transitional period.
This news comes as a shock to the local community, and many are expressing their concern and sadness at the impending closure. The "Radа" kindergarten has been a vital part of the community, and its absence will be deeply felt.
