Projected IHK Earnings in 2025: Examining the Business Landscape in Offenbach

In the heart of Germany, under the motto "Here & Now", the Industry and Commerce Chamber (IHK) of Offenbach am Main invited a whopping 300 guests from various walks of life to their annual bash on May 19, 2025. The event was all about questioning what sets the economic landscape of Offenbach city and district apart from the competition on a national and international stage - and exploring ways to amplify its attractive pull.

Schoder-Steinmüller: "Reliability over visions alone"

Kirsten Schoder-Steinmüller, the president of IHK, kicked off the evening with an emphatic speech stressing the importance of tackling location concerns with courage, decisiveness, and an open, innovative mindset. "We need to shape the future of Offenbach, make tough decisions, and welcome possibilities and innovations", said Schoder-Steinmüller.

The IHK strategy, defined by seven key action areas, stretches from nurturing skilled workers to developing zones and revitalizing city centers. Schoder-Steinmüller particularly highlighted the Master Plan and the Future Concept for the city center in Offenbach, as well as "Location Plus District Offenbach", which have already shown promising outcomes such as business expansions and job growth. Her take: "Our companies yearn for more than just a beautiful vision for tomorrow; they require reliability and real-world economic policy improvements right here, right now."

Offenbach on the Global Stage

Eric Menges, Managing Director of FrankfurtRheinMain GmbH - International Marketing of the Region, shed light on Offenbach's economic position from a global perspective. The region boasts a central location, exceptional transport routes, and a high degree of internationalism, earning it recognition as a leading hub for industries like finance, life sciences, and automotive. Yet, challenges such as a lack of space and a demand for qualified talent necessitate joint strategies, noted Menges, who motivates, "We're all ambassadors for our region, proud to live and work here."

Local businesses sing its praises

Local business insights enhanced the location analysis. Johann Gensert, the proprietor of the Hotel Odenwaldblick in Rodermark, emphasized, "Situated in the lap of nature, and right at the threshold of the Frankfurt metropolitan area: This spot is our business's hallmark for more than six decades."

Joanna Cimring, the Managing Director of Brand Factory GmbH in Offenbach, praised the variety of the city: "Offenbach as a location for our advertising agency serves us well - diversity, openness, and creativity are the cornerstones of our work." Her colleague Janina Bommersheim underscored the essence of good training: "Training transcends imparting knowledge and opens doors for growth."

Even SAMSON AG, currently constructing its shiny new headquarters on the Innovation Campus, sees immense potential. Project leader Sven Donner stated, "Offenbach is a centuries-old industrial center with superior location and infrastructure. The proximity to our previous location keeps our team intact. This creates the best conditions for us to partner with Offenbach in our growth journey."
