Fire on North-South Railway Line Disrupts Train Services Between Duisburg and Düsseldorf

Delays, diversions, and delays of up to 30 minutes are expected in long-distance traffic. The damaged cables are causing additional disruptions to both long-distance and local traffic on Deutsche Bahn.
The fire started in Düsseldorf's city area, and the entire area around Duisburg-Großenbaum in the south of the Ruhr area is not passable. This means that numerous passengers are stranded at the main stations in Duisburg and Düsseldorf.
The ICE lines to Berlin and Frankfurt am Main, as well as connections to northern, southern Germany, and the Netherlands, are affected. In local traffic, construction work on a parallel freight line in Duisburg-Wedau has been temporarily halted to handle some of the traffic.
