Rapid Speeds Recorded in the Three Gorges' latest vessel
In the small town of Dreieich, located in the German state of Hesse, authorities are taking action to curb excessive speeding, particularly on the August-Bebel-Straße.
Recent mobile controls in the area have revealed high speeding violations, even during late night hours, leading to the focus on installing additional speed cameras.
The new stationary speed cameras installed on Hainer Chaussee have been busy since their deployment in December 2024. Over the span of just over a month, they recorded a total of 292,421 vehicles, with 376 of them traveling too fast. The highest recorded speeds were 115 km/h in the direction of Sprendlingen and 103 km/h in the direction of Dreieichenhain, both well above the permitted limit.
These findings have alarmed First Mayor Holger Dechert, who has expressed concern over the initial results. However, Karin Eisenhauer, the divisional head, has stated that the placement of the speed cameras seems to be correct.
In response to these findings, the city of Dreieich plans to install more stationary speed cameras this year to further combat speeding violations and ensure the safety of its residents and visitors.
