Removed signage from the "Children's World" in Krasnoyarsk
In the heart of Krasnoyarsk, once home to the beloved toy store "Detskiy Mir" situated at a traditional merchant's building, an old sign has come down. The spot is now set to display a different name after renovation works are complete.
Daria Cherkasova, a local resident from Krasnoyarsk, shared photos of the sign's removal on her social media.
"I had planned to kick off this week with an event announcement on Saturday, but this caught my eye instead. It looks like 'Detskiy Mir' sign is coming down for good!"
Rumors about the potential absence of "Detskiy Mir" in the heart of the city started swirling back in February last year. The property owner commissioned an expert review of renovation plans for a part of the building where "Detskiy Mir" name was displayed.
The project included plans for changing the "Detskiy Mir" logo on the corner balcony billboard to "TD GADALOV." The project went through expert review and was approved. According to specialists, all restoration activities, including changing the sign, "will not have a negative impact on the visual perception and unique characteristics of the object."
In March of this year, the store itself reportedly closed under the "Detskiy Mir" name. The store had operated under that name since 1964, offering toys for more than 50 years. The owner claimed the store would return within a year, once renovation work is completed.
