Li Auto Relaunches the Li i8 Electric SUV with Improved Features
Restarts of Li Auto's i8 model following initial unpopular reception
The Li i8, a six-seat electric SUV from Li Auto, is set to hit the roads from August 20, marking the company's second battery electric vehicle (BEV) after the Li Mega MPV. The relaunched Li i8 comes with a 97.8-kWh ternary lithium battery pack that supports 5C supercharging and offers a CLTC range of 720 kilometers.
In an effort to streamline the purchasing process and cater to consumer preferences, Li Auto has adopted a unified Max configuration for the Li i8. This new configuration includes standard features such as the VLA large language model and platinum audio system, previously optional add-ons. The second-row entertainment screen remains an optional feature priced at ¥10,000.
The Li i8 is equipped with a dual-motor four-wheel drive system, enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 4.5 seconds. Initially priced around RMB 349,000, the company later reduced the price of the Max variant to RMB 339,800 ($47,310).
During its launch week, the Li i8 received 6,000 orders, indicating strong market interest. In July 2025, Li Auto delivered 30,731 vehicles, with cumulative deliveries surpassing 1.36 million units.
