Revamped Avenir Casino-Hotel Project in New York City Now Includes Community Area and Affordable Housing Accommodations

In collaboration with partners Rush Street Gaming and Greenwood Gaming, Silverstein Properties unveiled recently updated renderings for The Avenir, their ambitious casino and hotel development on W41st Street and 11th Avenue. Thevention.com

The mixed-use complex, slated to stand 785 feet tall and include a hotel with at least 1,000 rooms, over a dozen restaurants, and an exclusive gaming facility, might become a vibrant addition to Manhattan's skyline.

In response to local concerns, the developers emphasized the "community-first" design philosophy behind the project, incorporating a full-floor Community Gallery and the creation of more than 100 permanently affordable apartments off-site.

The Avenir, developed by CetraRuddy Architecture and Steelman Partners, envisions a 45-story tower imbued with a sophisticated charm that harmonizes well with the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood. New York's Gaming Facility Location Board has set a timeline for casino bids, with the deadline for submissions on June 27, 2025. Final approvals from a Community Advisory Committee, compliance with local zoning, and a $1 million application fee are required.

With other major casino operators withdrawing from New York City proposals, The Avenir is strategically positioned as a competitive contender for the casino bids. Local officials and community stakeholders have shown an interest in the development, eager to learn more about the project as civic engagement heightens.
