Revised Speed Restrictions implemented in Cascais

Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP), has announced new road safety measures on the National Road 6 (EN6) aka Marginal, aiming to slow traffic and enhance safety for all users. Here's what you need to know:

Speed Control on the Marginal

IP's measures are part of an initiative to actively manage speeds along the EN6. The goal is to install or replace vertical signage to set maximum speeds of 50 kilometers per hour throughout the entire route.

Putting the Brakes on Traffic

Work on these installations begins today, with anticipated completion by April 18. Work hours will be during regular business hours, 8am to 6pm, and may include road narrowing or shoulder removal. Consequently, it will lead to traffic constraints, but IP respectfully requests your understanding during this time.

Background Check: Recent Accidents

This announcement comes close on the heels of a regrettable incident where three cyclists were hit on Avenida Marginal, causing two of them serious injuries.

Time for Change

By implementing these changes, IP aims to improve overall road safety and provide a safer environment for pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers alike. While speeds may slow down during construction, rest assured, it's all for your safety!
