Saudi startup Taager securing $6.75 million in pre-Series B funding to expand its dropshipping platform
Taager, a MENA-focused social e-commerce platform, has raised $6.75 million in a pre-Series B funding round. This investment will be used to expand the platform's capabilities and regional presence, aligning with the growing trend of digital commerce expansion in the MENA region.
Founded in 2019 by Mohamed Elhorishy, Abdelrahman Sherief, Ahmed Ismail, and Ismail Omar, Taager leverages machine learning for intelligent product bundling and customer segmentation. The platform aims to make it easier for individuals to launch and scale e-commerce businesses by providing them with products, storage, shipping, and customer collection services.
With the recent funding, Taager plans to scale its logistics infrastructure to facilitate smoother transactions and wider marketplace access for merchants. The startup is primarily targeting key markets such as Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Egypt, where the startup ecosystem and e-commerce sectors are rapidly growing.
The oversubscribed round saw participation from several investors, including Norrsken22 (the Africa-focused tech growth fund), Endeavor Catalyst, Beltone VC, 4DX Ventures, RAED Ventures, BECO Capital, and Breyer Capital.
In addition to expanding its operations, Taager has also integrated generative AI to scale its operations through AI sales agents. This move is expected to further enhance the platform's efficiency and service delivery.
To date, Taager has served over 45,000 online social sellers and has expanded its operations to include the UAE and recently entered the Iraqi market. The platform claims to increase merchant profitability by an average of 2.5x.
This funding round marks a significant milestone for Taager as it continues to grow and innovate in the rapidly evolving e-commerce landscape of the MENA region. With its focus on enabling online merchants with end-to-end logistics solutions, Taager is well-positioned to tap into the increasing demand for integrated e-commerce services in this fast-growing economic region.
- As Taagger expands its logistics infrastructure, the focus on enabling online merchants with end-to-end solutions places it advantageously in alignment with the burgeoning finance and technology sector within the MENA business landscape.
