New Leader at the Helm of VDA's Communication, Events & Marketing Department
Simon Schütz, a seasoned journalist with a career spanning across Germany and the USA, has taken on a new role as the Head of the Communication, Events & Marketing department at the Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA).
In his new position, Schütz will oversee a wide range of responsibilities, including the press, digital sectors, VDA events, and communication and marketing for the prestigious IAA MOBILITY and IAA TRANSPORTATION events. Some examples of VDA events that he will be managing include the Mobility Innovation Summit, Mittelstandstag, and Forum Automobillogistics.
Schütz's journalism background is expected to contribute significantly to his effectiveness in overseeing the press and digital sectors at the VDA. Prior to joining the VDA in 2021, he had already built a strong reputation in the journalism industry.
As the leader of the Communication, Events & Marketing department, Schütz will be the direct superior of employees such as Katharina Sophie Bellstedt, who manages the development of the VDA's digital channels and their visibility and relevance. He will also act as a key spokesperson and external representative for the VDA, representing the association alongside the president Hildegard Müller.
Senior staff such as Andrea Koepfer, who will become Director of Communication, Events & Marketing in September 2025, will report directly to Schütz, indicating his overarching leadership role in the department.
