Scottish Ecosystem Platform Launches to Connect Local Startups with Global Investors
A new platform, the Scottish Ecosystem Platform, has launched to bridge the gap between Scottish startups and global investors. Unveiled at the Invest2Scale conference in Edinburgh, it offers a comprehensive view of Scotland's entrepreneurial ecosystem, making local companies more visible to potential partners worldwide.
The platform, developed through a collaboration between the University of Edinburgh, the Scottish Government, and Techscaler, is the first of its kind to provide detailed, open access information on startups, scale-ups, and established private companies in Scotland. It offers features such as funding round tracking, investor profiles, and market trends, enabling users to identify investment opportunities and understand competitive landscapes.
Dr Duncan Martin, director of entrepreneurship at the University of Edinburgh's Bayes Centre, believes the platform has the potential to transform Scotland's role in the global innovation economy. Aoife Morrin, head of ecosystem growth at Dealroom.co, highlights its role in connecting, collaborating, and accelerating growth within the Scottish ecosystem. The platform is powered by leading data intelligence firm Dealroom, serving as Scotland's entrepreneurial compass and providing startups with the data and connections they need to thrive.
The Scottish Ecosystem Platform aims to address Scotland's scale-up challenge by making it easier for international investors and talent to discover opportunities.
