Allied Universal Expands New York City Presence with Acquisition of Mulligan Security

On August 13, 2025, Allied Universal announced the acquisition of Mulligan Security, a security services provider with over 30 years of experience in New York City. The acquisition aims to boost Allied Universal's local service capabilities and strengthen its presence in the Greater New York City region.

Mulligan Security offers a range of services across commercial, healthcare, and museum sectors in the city. With this acquisition, Allied Universal intends to extend its regional footprint in the Northeastern U.S., as per Steve Jones, Global Chairman and CEO of Allied Universal.

Meanwhile, Protos Security, the former owner of Mulligan Security, has announced a strategic shift in focus. Post the divestiture of Mulligan Security, Protos will now concentrate on its tech-enabled managed services platform. This change involves delivering a differentiated, data-driven, and tailored security service experience through its unique supplier-managed model.

The supplier-managed model enhances operational transparency, flexibility, and cost control for clients. Protos will now be laser-focused on driving a superior customer experience across its national footprint, leveraging the largest North American supplier network.

The divestiture of Mulligan Security allows Protos to streamline its focus, enabling it to invest more in high-growth areas where technology and operational excellence drive measurable client outcomes.

In response to the increasing usage of cellular signal jammers, DMP has introduced a detection device called JamAlert. This device is designed to combat the threat of illegal cell jammers to security systems. The usage of cellular signal jammers creates a vulnerability for security systems, leaving them exposed to potential breaches.

With the acquisition of Mulligan Security and the introduction of JamAlert, both companies are taking significant strides in ensuring the security and safety of their clients in the face of evolving threats.
