Stadler Rail to Revolutionize Kazakhstan's Passenger Travel by 2026

Swiss company Stadler Rail AG is set to revolutionize passenger travel in Kazakhstan. By 2026, its joint venture TOO 'Stadler Kazakhstan' in Astana will produce new electric passenger trains for four major routes: Astana–Almaty, Astana–Semey, Astana–Shymkent, and Astana–Atyrau.

Stadler, a leading European manufacturer of railway vehicles, is known for its innovative designs. Its Kazakh partner, Tulpar-Talgo JSC, has collaborated since 2019 to produce modern trains locally. The new KZ8A 'Kazakhstan 8A' trains are tailored to Kasachstan's extensive network and climate. They promise enhanced speed, comfort, and reduced travel time. The production and testing process, adhering to the Technical Regulation of the Customs Union TR TS 001/2011, involves various Kazakh railway sections. By 2030, 557 new coaches will replace the entire fleet, demonstrating reliable braking systems and functioning safety features. Passengers can expect thoughtful ergonomics, modern engineering, individual climate control, and accessibility features. Stadler will provide maintenance for 20 years.

Stadler's new trains, produced locally in Kazakhstan, will significantly improve passenger news across the country. With a service life of 40 years, even in harsh climatic conditions, these trains represent a long-term investment in Kasachstan's railway infrastructure.
