Strategy Doubles Bitcoin Acquisition Efforts to $84B by 2027

Strategy, a leading corporate investor in Bitcoin, has seen a significant surge in unrealized gains during the second quarter, thanks to Bitcoin's price rally to nearly $97,300. The company is now doubling its capital raising efforts to $84 billion to acquire more Bitcoin by 2027.

Strategy's Q1 2025 earnings report revealed a 13.7% year-to-date Bitcoin Yield and a $5.8 billion Bitcoin Gain. The company has adopted fair value accounting for its Bitcoin holdings, resulting in a $12.7 billion boost to retained earnings, despite a $5.9 billion unrealized loss. Strategy now holds 553,555 bitcoins, making it the top corporate holder of Bitcoin reserves.

In the first four months of 2025, Strategy added 301,335 Bitcoin to its balance sheet through a $21 billion at-the-market (ATM) equity offering. The company is increasing its 2025 Bitcoin Yield target to 25% and its Bitcoin Gain target to $15 billion. Over 70 public companies have now adopted a Bitcoin treasury standard, with Strategy at the forefront of this movement.
