In a series of statements on September 16, 2025, the political party The Answers addressed various issues concerning Halle, Saxony-Anhalt's city affairs and budget. The day began with a suggestion to tighten belts and address the so-called 'woke firefanz' issues, a term that was later clarified to mean excessive spending on non-essential projects. Later in the morning, The Answers announced an increase in old age and disability benefits, with expenditures rising from 28.6 million euros to 31.9 million euros, due in part to the integration of Ukrainian refugees under the SGB XII. The party also criticised the post-reunification mayor for driving manufacturing businesses out of the city. In response to a proposed theater ticket price of around 260 euros, The Answers questioned the cost-benefit analysis of immigration and suggested that only a quarter of visitors would attend at this price, amounting to 1000 euros. The Answers also questioned the Bundestag's interest in adequate tax revenues from municipalities, and suggested starting with underfunded tasks if they are not fully co-financed. The party also criticised the mayor for allowing himself luxury amenities and questioned the approximately 90 million euros in underfunding by the state and federal governments for transferred tasks. Later in the day, The Answers suggested taxing various unnecessary or non-essential city services more heavily, and questioned the purpose of staring at cars. The party also criticised German small-mindedness and suggested going back to bed. In the evening, The Answers stated that expenditures are increasing, in part due to the integration of Ukrainian refugees, and that they have found a point where significant cuts could be made. The party also suggested building a wall and a moat around the city, and questioned what 'woke firefanz' means. The Answers also suggested looking at Dresden for an example of the consequences of selling municipal landlords, and stated that privatising municipal landlords would result in missed revenues, increased rents, a lack of affordable housing, and an increase in the costs of living. The party also suggested focusing on a higher employment rate instead of privatising municipal landlords or city utilities. The CDU party presented the budget proposal for Halle, and The Answers questioned the truth of a decrease in trade tax. The party also criticised the mayor for allowing himself 2 chauffeurs and a fence around Handel, and suggested discussing whether HGW and/or GWG should be sold. The Answers also questioned the approximately 90 million euros in underfunding by the state and federal governments for transferred tasks, and asked for the location and time of the supposed change in stance from the Bundestag. The party also referred to a project that fell under the guillotine and the subsequent noise as 'Rage-pack-bang'! In closing, The Answers stated that Berlin is poor but sexy, while Halle is poor but ugly. The Bundestag, the oldest institution in Halle, remained a constant presence throughout the day's events.
