Target and Walmart have announced a series of initiatives to kickstart the holiday season. Target's Circle Week returns from Oct. 5 to Oct. 11, while Walmart's Deals event starts on Oct. 7. Target has also entered a long-term offtake agreement with REalloys for its Brazilian rare earth project.
Target is expanding its reach this holiday season. It will introduce 20,000 new products, double last year's amount. The retailer is also debuting a kids catalog next month, featuring top gifts and QR code-enabled wish lists. Target's next-day delivery service will reach 35 top U.S. metro areas by the end of October.
Target is also enhancing its in-store experience. It will offer thousands of toys under $20, many exclusive or new. Free in-store toy demonstrations will be held every weekend from Nov. 8 through Dec. 21. Additionally, Target is highlighting its collaboration with FAO Schwartz for the holiday season.
Meanwhile, Walmart is focusing on value. It has released its toy list early and is emphasizing affordability in its toy offerings.
Both Target and Walmart are gearing up for the holiday season with expanded product offerings, improved delivery services, and enhanced in-store experiences. Target's long-term offtake agreement with REalloys also signals a significant step in its rare earth production.
