Tattooed Mastermind Linked to SWAT USA Drops Hack

A heavily tattooed, muscular individual named Ivan Sherban, who recently married, has been linked to a recent hack of SWAT USA Today Drops, a service for laundering stolen merchandise. The 33-year-old, born on August 18, is suspected of being the mastermind behind the hack under the aliases 'Apathyp' and 'Fearlless'.

Sherban, who operates primarily on the Verified cybercrime forum, purchased the SWAT USA Drops business in January 2021 with his partner Universalo. The service, based in Russia, recruits U.S. residents to reship stolen goods. It currently employs over 1,200 U.S. residents, who are set to be let go after their first month.

Sherban's Vkontakte profile shows his email address [email protected], associated with the password 'niceone'. He initially registered on Verified in February 2013 under the alias Apathyp. Despite multiple requests, Mr. Sherban did not respond to comment.

The recent hack of SWAT USA Drops has raised concerns about the service's security and the potential impact on its employees. The investigation into the hack is ongoing, and the future of the service and its employees remains uncertain.
