Taxi Boss Warns of Regulation Threat to Businesses in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
Guido Sembach, the President of the Taxi and Rental Car Association of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, has raised concerns about the increasing regulation and lack of fair competition in the state. He recently met with Minister President Manuela Schwesig to discuss these issues, particularly the financing of patient transport in rural areas.
Sembach, who leads the regional association, warned that the current situation is threatening many businesses. He stressed the importance of constructive dialogue with politics, a sentiment echoed by Michael Oppermann, the General Manager of the Federal Association of Taxi and Mietwagen.
The bilateral meeting between Sembach and Schwesig focused on regulatory burdens and structural challenges, with a key concern being the insufficient financing of patient transport, especially in rural areas. This lack of funding threatens the mobility of elderly, sick, and vulnerable people who rely on these services.
Both parties agreed to continue their conversation to develop concrete solutions for the taxi and rental car sector in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. They aim to address the regulatory burdens and ensure fair competition, thereby securing the mobility of those who need it most.
