They've fired up a digital survey to find out if you're down with the card or not, with a deadline of late May. But don't sweat it if you're not quite ready, the survey ain't tied to any hard deadlines.

According to the WAZ, there's a letter circling around from the Düsseldorf regional government, inviting you to cast your vote online about the payment card. If you decide to play ball, the ministry will hook you up with the card from late June, and the service provider will get things ready within four weeks, training your peeps in the process. That means you could be rocking the payment card this summer!

But if you're not digging the idea, it's cool. You can always pull the opt-out card, like Düsseldorf, Dortmund, and Aachen have already done.

The SPD's deputy parliamentary leader in the state parliament, Lisa Kapteinat, ain't impressed. She's accusing our fearless leaders, Minister President Hendrik Wüst (CDU) and Minister of Refugees Josefine Paul (Greens), of creating "a complete mess." Yikes!
