The Wilhelm project construction, halted for four years, is set to resume

The long-awaited construction project known as "The Wilhelm" on Wilhelmstraße in Berlin-Mitte is set to make significant strides under its new management. The Würzburger Hilpert AG, a family-owned company specialising in building rental apartments in Berlin, acquired the previously undeveloped land in 2025, and the project is now scheduled for completion in 2028.

The project, which encompasses a total of 28,000 square meters of gross floor area, was initially planned for the construction of condominiums with up to 360 square meters of living space and spacious penthouses with up to 680 square meters. The visualizations for the project are provided by the Patzschke Planning Company GmbH.

The Hilpert Group's acquisition of The Wilhelm marks the end of a years-long stall in the project. The previous owner, the Adler Group, had expected the project to be completed in three years, but with the new management, the timeline has been accelerated. If completed, the project would mark the disappearance of a long-running construction site in the surrounding neighbourhoods.

The Hotel Adlon, newly built according to the plans of the Berlin-based architectural and planning firm Patzschke, was reopened in August 1997, just a few meters away from the current construction site. This collaboration between Patzschke and the Hilpert Group continues with the planning of The Wilhelm project.

For those interested in tracking the project's progress, updates can be found on our website. The Hilpert Group is committed to bringing this project to fruition and revitalising the Berlin-Mitte area. Stay tuned for more updates as The Wilhelm project moves forward.
