Toyota Kirloskar Motor Sales Surge 16% in September 2025

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has reported a 16% year-on-year increase in car sales for September 2025, with 31,091 units sold. This positive performance can be attributed to the festive season momentum and the benefits of recent GST reforms, as highlighted by Varinder Wadhwa, Vice President of Sales-Service-Used car Business at TKM.

September 2025 saw a significant rise in car sales compared to the previous months, with 32,575 units sold in July and 28,869 units in June. However, car sales did show a 9.2% decline from August 2025, where 34,236 units were sold. This decline can be attributed to the end of the festive season and the absence of major new launches during the month.

TKM's car sales growth during the June-September 2025 period was gradual, peaking in August and settling at 16% YoY growth in September. The company sold 27,089 units domestically and exported 4,002 units in September, reflecting robust car export growth. In the first half of the financial year (April-September 2025), TKM sold 184,959 units, marking a 14% increase from the same period in 2024.

Toyota passed on full GST benefits to customers, boosting demand across its car portfolio. The introduction of the enhanced Rumion with six airbags as standard and Toyota's association with DRUM TAO as brand ambassadors also contributed to the positive car sales performance. Looking ahead, consumers can expect continued growth and innovation from TKM, building on its strong electrification strategy and commitment to local production and sustainability.
