Traffic management overhaul initiated in IT Park by CCTO
The Cebu City Traffic Operations Office (CCTO) has introduced a new traffic system in the IT Park area, aiming to streamline traffic flow and reduce congestion in high-volume areas. The new scheme was put to a three-day dry run from August 11 to 13, 2025, starting at 1 a.m.
During this transition, the CCTO is asking for the public's understanding and cooperation. Key features of the new system include a "no left turn" policy at several intersections, designed to streamline movement and reduce delays.
For instance, vehicles on W. Geonzon St. are no longer allowed to turn left onto Salinas Drive. Similarly, no left turn is permitted for vehicles on Salinas Drive heading to Jose Maria del Mar St., and vice versa. Vehicles from Gov. M. Cuenco Ave. going toward Archbishop Reyes Ave. and Pope John Paul II Ave. must turn right.
However, for destinations towards Banilad-Talamban, a left turn is still required. Vehicles exiting IT Park are directed to use the designated flow towards Archbishop Reyes Ave. and Pope John Paul II Ave.
To guide motorists and prevent confusion, new road signs have been installed. Motorists are advised to follow the new signs and traffic flow to avoid delays and confusion.
The new traffic system is part of the city's ongoing initiatives to enhance traffic management and improve public transportation. It is also aimed at easing traffic congestion in high-volume areas, contributing to the broader efforts to reduce congestion in Cebu City.
The CCTO urges everyone to cooperate during this transition period to ensure a smoother and more efficient traffic flow in the IT Park area.
The new traffic system in the IT Park area also includes changes in the finance industry, as some parking fees may be revised to accommodate the changes. This new system might stimulate the transportation industry, as the streamlined flow could encourage more business establishments to operate in the IT Park.
