True Velocity Unveils RM834: A Lightweight, Multi-Caliber Assault Machine Gun
True Velocity has unveiled the RM834, a cutting-edge assault machine gun designed to challenge the established FN MK48. Weighing between 12.4 to 15.6lbs (5.6 to 7kg), it offers rifle-like mobility with belt-fed firepower, and boasts reduced recoil and improved accuracy.
The RM834 is a multi-caliber weapon, capable of chambering 7.62 NATO, 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.8TVC, and potentially the US Army's M1186 6.8mm round. It features a quick change barrel with fixed headspace, allowing for swift caliber changes. The gun can fire from both open and closed bolts, and its non-reciprocating charging handle can be swapped left or right.
True Velocity's website hints at additional features, such as the ability to charge the weapon while on safe. The RM834 is tipped with a Delta P suppressor, following True Velocity's acquisition of Delta P in 2023. The US Army selected SIG Sauer's submission for the Next Generation Squad Weapons program, but True Velocity continues to develop its offerings, positioning itself as a contender in emerging markets for lightweight assault machine guns and new generation squad support weapons.
The RM834, developed by True Velocity, combines innovative features and multi-caliber capability, offering a formidable challenge to established assault machine guns. Its lightweight design and reduced recoil make it an attractive option for modern militaries.
