TVI Resumes Power After Cebu Quake, Aids Recovery
THERMA Visayas Inc. (TVI) has swiftly responded to the 6.9-magnitude earthquake in Cebu. The company has resumed operations of Unit 2 and is working diligently to restore power and provide aid to affected areas.
TVI's Unit 2 returned online at 3:51 a.m. on October 2, 2025, following thorough structural and safety inspections. The company is now focused on bringing Unit 1 back into service by October 5, pending final validation.
TVI is coordinating with relevant agencies to minimize grid impact and maintain reliable power during the aftermath. East Asia Utilities Corp. was reconnected to the grid on October 1 at 12:25 p.m. Both facilities underwent inspections to ensure safety and grid reliability.
TVI is also working with the local government of Toledo City to extend relief efforts to quake-hit areas in Bogo City. Despite the search results not providing information about who is leading the aid efforts in Toledo City, TVI's swift actions have helped restore power and support recovery efforts in the aftermath of the earthquake.
