UAMPS Inks Solar & BESS PPA Deal with Longroad Energy for Utah Project
UAMPS, a Utah-based wholesale energy provider, has inked a solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) power purchase agreement (PPA) with Longroad Energy. The contract involves one of UAMPS' member utilities, Heber Light & Power (HL&P), and relates to a project expected to connect to PacifiCorp's transmission system in Utah.
UAMPS, a political subdivision of Utah, serves 50 members across seven western US states. The organisation facilitates joint energy projects among its members, who are municipal power providers. Recently, UAMPS negotiated a PPA with Longroad Energy for solar and BESS performance. This agreement involves HL&P, one of UAMPS' members, which discussed the PPA during a board meeting.
The PPA centres around Longroad's Fremont Solar and Storage project. Upon completion, this project is expected to connect to PacifiCorp's transmission system in Utah, providing clean energy to the region.
UAMPS' PPA with Longroad Energy for solar and BESS performance is set to benefit multiple utilities across the western US. The Fremont Solar and Storage project, once connected to PacifiCorp's transmission system, will contribute to the region's renewable energy portfolio.
