Support for Ukraine's Rebuild: Europe Delivers Over 20 Billion Euros in Spring Aid

Ukraine secures 20 billion euros in European funding during the spring season.

Hangin' with ya, pals! Let's chat about the recent flurry of assistance Ukraine's received, mainly from Europe. We're talkin' 'bout military support, financials, and humanitarian aid, you know, the whole nine yards!

The lowdown is this: due to Russia's attacks on Ukraine, starting in Feb '22, Europe has been stepping up its game, big time! The Kiel Institute for the World Economy ran the numbers, and came up with a jaw-dropper: around 20.2 billion Euros swung Ukraine's way from European aid in March and April. This far exceeds the 6.7 billion Euros they got in Jan-Feb!

Now, here's where things get interesting. Since February, the good ol' USA hasn't contributed any aid, as per stats. But hey, don't get your feathers ruffled! Christoph Trebesch, the dude leading the project, reckons it's damn impressive that Europe has gotta this gap! Guess time will tell if this increase is short-lived or the new normal.

Now, flashback to March 2025, rememba' the Trump era? The White House, then under Trump's command, temporarily haulted U.S. military aid to Ukraine. They said it was down to Trump aimin' for peace, so the aid was put on hold, pending future review.

All this tell ya, Europe's got Ukraine's back, but we'll see how it shakes out in the long haul!
