Unveiling the Revelations:

Get ready, Lübeckers! From July 28, 2025, the Mühlentor Bridge is goin' under the knife for some much-needed emergency repairs. The surgery involves removing damaged concrete slabs on the old walkways, and it ain't gonna be a quick fix – the operation's set to run until September 5, 2025.

A thorough inspection has revealed that the surface plates on those cantilevers ain't in the best shape, and to keep folks safe from falling debris, they gotta go. The work's divided into two phases, and both sides of the bridge will be affected. So, city-bound traffic is gonna have to find an alternative route as the bridge'll be closed for yeas, leaving it open only for those leavin' the city.

Removal of the plates'll not only beef up safety but also lighten the load on that structure, gettin' it primed for the major facelift it's gonna get in the future. Phase one focuses on the city-bound side, with the plates bein' yanked off with the help of a crane. While the crew's doin' their thing, a telecom company'll use the closure as an opportunity to build a new cable shaft. After three weeks on each section, it's phase two's turn on the city-outbound side.

Fear not, pedestrians and cyclists: the temporary bridge will stay put, even though it'll be a bit crowded with all the construction workers and equipment. For those travelin' by vehicle, the detour'll take you via Kronsforder Allee, Sankt-Jürgen-Ring, Berliner Platz, Possehlstraße, and Wallstraße. The bus brigade won't be exempt, either; they'll use Huxtertorallee, Rehder Bridge, Krähestraße, and Wahmstraße as their routes while the Mülentor Bridge is closin'. Mühlenstraße won't be accessible to city-bound buses during this time.

Gotta be prepared for some delays in public transport and longer walks to your stop. For the latest updates, hop on over to the website of Stadtwerke Lübeck Mobil at www.sv-luebeck.de. The regional providers are in the loop too.

Once the works are done, the bridge'll be open to traffic once more. Everything's been ironed out with the relevant authorities, emergency services, and transport companies, so disruptions should be kept to a bare minimum.

So there you have it, folks – mark those calendars, 'cause the Mühlentor Bridge is about to experience a major overhaul. Keep an eye out for detour signs and updates from local authorities to navigate the construction zone smoothly. And hey, who knows – it might be an adventure!

Happy travels, Lübeckers!
