First Day of Heat Network Testing in Loop No.1: What You Need to Know

🔊Biysk residents, get ready for a temporary cold spell! The results are in after the first day of hydrotesting (pressure testing) in loop No.1, and things aren't looking hot for the next six days.

On June 17, the Biysk heat network division of SGC disconnected consumers from the resources, and during the day, they discovered 18 issues. Four emerged on the main pipelines (Shadrina St. 58, Socialisticheskaya 76, Pozharskogo 51, Trofimova 47), while 14 cropped up on quarterly networks.

Next up, heat engineers will move on to repair work in the TM-1 zone (Kotelshchikov settlement, Spichka factory area, Railway station area, Udarная St., Pereezd area, Razina St.). They'll follow that with a control pressure test of the main pipeline and any locally repaired sections.

Brace Yourself: six Days Without Hot Water

Heat without a heartbounce (Biysk) will be without hot water for six days, folks! Pressure testing necessitates a temporary shutdown and draining or isolation of the heat network to guarantee its integrity and safety. In other words, no hot water can flow until the system passes the tests, checks for leaks, durability, and performance under pressure.

Pressure testing is nothing new in heat network maintenance or commissioning. It's a standard procedure that momentarily suspends hot water availability until the network is fully operational again. This precaution ensures a dependable and safe heat delivery once the network is back in business. Although the search results don't explicitly state it, this is common practice in the heat network industry.

So, buckle up, Biysk! Stay warm and keep the hot water visions at bay for a little while longer. The heat will be back before you know it! 😉

  1. As the heat network undergoes six days of pressure testing, it's crucial for residents to understand the role of environmental science and finance in this process, ensuring the industry's commitment to climate-change mitigation and the preservation of the environment.
  2. The upcoming repair work in the TM-1 zone involves not only heat engineering but also energy management, as efficient use and distribution of energy are vital in reducing emissions associated with climate-change.
  3. With the temporary cold spell ahead, it's an opportune time for the Biysk community to reflect on the importance of energy conservation and sustainable practices, considering the substantial impact that the industry and each resident can have on the environment.
