Get ready to groove as Vovinam, a traditional martial art from Vietnam, is gaining some serious traction in Senegal! The Senegal Vovinam Union (USV), a part of the World Vovinam Federation (WVVF) since 2008, is leading the charge. This introduction was recently seen during the 2025 Vietnam Ambassador Vovinam Cup held in Dakar, which attracted nearly 1,000 martial artists from 75 clubs under the USV [1]. In an exciting turn of events, Senegal has also been selected to participate in the 2025 World Vovinam Championship in Bali, Indonesia - establishing its place as a rising star in the international Vovinam community [1].

That's a massive leap, my friends!

Vietnamese entrepreneurs are taking advantage of this growth by partnering with local businesses to create impressive outcomes. The Secretary-General of the Dakar Chamber of Commerce, Mbaye Chimère Ndiaye, called on Vietnamese firms to invest in local processing plants in Senegal, utilizing domestic raw materials like raw cashew nuts and cotton [4]. With economic growth projected to reach 8.4% in 2025 - one of the highest in Africa - Senegal presents a golden opportunity for Vietnam's export potential [4].

Just imagine a world where you can enjoy a delicious bowl of rice or a cup of coffee while practicing your impressive Vovinam moves! Fingers crossed for a prosperous friendship between Vietnam and Senegal that lasts for years to come. Keep on rockin' with Vovinam, Senegal!
