Volkswagen (VW) extends the electric car purchase incentive program until the final month of September 2025.

Volkswagen has announced an extension of purchase bonuses for electric cars in Germany until the end of September 2025. This move aims to encourage the adoption of zero-emission mobility, particularly the ID.3, ID.4, ID.5, and ID.7 models and their variants.

The current extended bonuses include a combination of national and local incentives, designed to make electric vehicles more affordable. One such incentive is the eco-bonus, which may be increased or at least remain at encouraging levels in 2025. The bonus amount varies based on the purchase price, with more affordable models receiving higher rewards.

Various regions and municipalities offer additional grants on top of the national eco-bonus, often targeting low-income households or buyers who trade in older polluting internal combustion vehicles. The scrappage incentive ("Prime à la conversion") encourages trading in gas-powered vehicles for electric ones and may be expanded in 2025, providing further financial benefits when upgrading to electric Volkswagen models.

In some cases, buyers benefit from non-monetary incentives such as free parking, reserved lanes, or temporary waivers of regional taxes for the most eco-friendly vehicles. Volkswagen dealerships across Germany are running the Autofest event, offering exchange bonuses, loyalty rewards, special finance schemes, and comprehensive service packages. These incentives can apply to electric models like the ID series.

While exact bonus amounts for each specific ID model are not detailed explicitly, these combined national and local supports along with manufacturer promotions represent a significant financial incentive for purchasing Volkswagen electric cars in Germany.

The ID.7 luxury sedan starts at 48,995 euros after discount, with the GTX top models eligible for the maximum discount of 6,000 euros. The Pro models receive a 5,000 euro discount, while the Pro S and GTX versions receive a 6,000 euro rebate. The ID.7 luxury sedan Pro S and GTX versions are also eligible for the purchase bonus.

The ID.3 Pure base price is below 30,000 euros due to a flat 3,500 euro discount. The ID.4 Pure models are 4,500 euros cheaper, and the ID.4 starts at 35,835 euros after discount. The ID.5 starts at 38,470 euros after discount.

The ID.7 Tourer Pro models receive a 5,000 euro discount, and the Tourer also receives a purchase bonus. The ID.7 Tourer Pro S and GTX versions receive a 6,000 euro rebate, and the Tourer starts at 49,795 euros after discount. The ID.3 Pro, Pro S, and GTX top models also benefit from the purchase bonus.

The continuation of these discounts into the fourth quarter depends on Volkswagen meeting its EU CO2 fleet emissions without further promotion. Prospective buyers should check with local authorities and Volkswagen dealerships to maximize the combined incentives applicable to their specific model and location.
