Road Workheads Up in Pforzheim, Germany 🇩🇪 🚧

Week 46, 2024 construction projects progress update

Mark your calendars for some road closures and maintenance work happening in the heart of Pforzheim! Here's what's cooking 🍲:

Arlinger Tunnel Shutdown 🚧 labeled

Get ready for the Arlinger Tunnel to shut down for a whopping three days from Tuesday, November 12, to Thursday, November 14, 2024, as they embark on some much-needed daily maintenance, from 9 am to 3 pm each day. But that's not all - the tunnel will also close for its semi-annual cleaning on Monday, November 25, to Tuesday, November 26, from 6 pm to 6 am in both directions. Boy, we hope your commute will be a breeze!

When this happens, the tunnel entrances will be sealed off, and lucky for you, the signs will guide you towards a detour via the L 562, Dietlinger Straße, and the B 294, Wildbader Straße. Just follow the yellow bricks...er, signs!

Sewer Upgrades in Würm's Main Street 🚧 labeled

Starting on Monday, November 11, the city of Pforzheim will embark on a sewer system overhaul in Würm's main street and Hans-Thoma-Straße. Say goodbye to those old, outdated drainage systems as they'll be getting a well-deserved makeover from the intersection of Würm's main street/Hans-Thoma-Straße to the Hohenwarter Straße. That stretch of street will be off-limits to through traffic as the work begins.

First on the chopping block will be the shaft located at the intersection of Würm's main street/Hans-Thoma-Straße. Once that's polished and ready, they'll move the closure down Hans-Thoma-Straße, eventually extending beyond Hohenwarter Straße.

Next, Würm's main street from the intersection of Hohenwarter Straße/Schulstraße to the intersection of Hans-Thoma-Straße will join the party, temporarily shutting down to traffic in sections. And while they're at it, the fine folks from Pforzheim will also be replacing the water pipes in Würm's main street. Ain't no party like a Pforzheim roadwork party! After the earthmovers depart, the streets in the work zone will be given a spiffy new coat of asphalt, and all will be right with the world again. Get ready, as this extravaganza is expected to last until autumn 2025.

District Heating Line Work in Lammstraße 🚧 labeled

Prepare yourself for a four-week-long construction period starting on Monday, November 11. During this time, the access road from Zerrennerstraße will be off-limits. Follow the detour via Blumenstraße and Bruderstraße!
