Workers on rotational duty in Krasnoyarsk promised nearly the highest wages

In the chilly lands of Krasnoyarstk, the paycheck on rotation is fatter than in most rotational territories sprawling across Russia. The ol' Красноярский край ranks third in the nation regarding salary offers on far-flung mining and industrial projects, according to the labor market portal hh.ru.

In the first quarter of 2025, recruiters were advertising an average of 174,9 thousand rubles for rotation jobs in the Krasnoyarstk region. That's less than in Magadan (188 thousand) and Yakutia (181.3 thousand), but above the nationwide median of 154.5 thousand rubles for rotational job offers, which already exceeds the average wage by aplenty.

The sizeable wage proposals indicate a high demand for manpower and a scarcity of workers.

A study by hh ranks the Krasnoyarstk region among Russia’s top ten rotational territories, with 21% of all job offers being for remote positions. However, in Magadan and Zabaykalsky Krai, and on Chukotka, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, and Amur Oblast, such offers account for over a third and almost a quarter, respectively.

The most frequent demands for employees are for drivers, machine operators, general laborers, mechanics, machinists, metalworkers, sandblasters, welders, and electricians. Yet, there are offers for even more specialized roles, such as event managers, real estate agents, and video operators.

Despite the hefty paychecks, recruiters report a disappointingly low interest in rotation work, with only 3% of applicants willing to commit in Q1 of 2025. The number in Krasnoyarstk is slightly higher at 5%.

Many people hesitate to spend months away from home in harsh conditions, deeming such work not worth even the hefty paychecks. Yet, there are always those who see no alternative to leaving home and heading off for a fat payday to buy a flat or improve their family's financial situation.

In the light of the ongoing industrial boom and increasing energy demands, the Krasnoyarstk region's financial sector is witnessing a surge in job offers, particularly for roles in the energy and mining industries. The high salary proposals suggest a significant need for skilled professionals, yet a dearth of applicants is perceived, possibly due to the challenging working conditions.
