WVV Wiesbaden Holding: A 25-year commitment to serving the city's needs

For the past 25 years, WVV Wiesbaden Holding GmbH has been at the helm of key municipal services in Wiesbaden, managing financial flows for crucial companies in sectors such as supply, transport, housing, urban development, and infrastructure. Founded in May 2000, this state capital subsidiary serves as a vital connecting element for various companies, enabling efficient coordination and fostering sustainable growth.

Entities under the WVV Umbrella

Some of the companies encompassed by the WVV include ESWE Supply, ESWE Transport, housing construction companies GWW and GeWeGe, the Urban Development Company SEG, and WiBau GmbH. Despite having legal independence, these companies work harmoniously under the WVV’s oversight.

Financial Impact and Urban Development Contributions

The WVV's economic impact is evident through key figures. Since 2010, more than €250 million has been distributed to the municipal budget, while surpluses, particularly from the energy sector, have provided approximately €460 million for public transport since 2001. In total, this amounts to over €710 million, significantly contributing to Wiesbaden’s long-term infrastructure preservation.

A Focus on the Future

"The WVV is more than just the sum of its assets", stresses the WVV Supervisory Board Chairman, Mayor Gert-Uwe Mende. He highlights the holding's strategic role in structuring and managing municipal assets in the public services sector, enabling efficient financial control and allocating resources to key tasks in Wiesbaden, such as affordable housing and the energy and mobility transition.

Embracing the Path to Climate Neutrality

With an eye on the future, the WVV will continue to play a pivotal role in Wiesbaden's growth, particularly addressing challenges like achieving climate neutrality and transforming energy and transport systems. Collaboration between the municipal companies and the city as the shareholder will be essential for tackling these tasks.

A Strategy with Vision

To address the continuing economically challenging conditions, WVV emphasizes transparency, targeted overall financial control, and collaboration with all stakeholders. As Managing Director Bernadette Boot explains, the WVV focuses on maintaining financial stability to better address core issues in Wiesbaden, from affordable housing to the energy and mobility transition.

The WVV Wiesbaden Holding GmbH, celebrating its 25th anniversary, manages financial flows for businesses in sectors such as supply, transport, housing, urban development, and infrastructure. In the business domain, their economic impact is significant, with more than €710 million contributed to Wiesbaden's long-term infrastructure preservation since 2010.
